Cultivating a more equitable and resilient food system

Rooted in equity and powered by community, we work alongside farmers, ranchers, buyers, and technical assistance providers to reshape the food system from the ground up—expanding access to markets, land, and resources for small, underrepresented producers.

About APC

The Agricultural Platform Collective (APC) works alongside small, underrepresented farmers and ranchers to help pave the way toward a more just, regenerative food system. By supporting efforts to navigate systemic barriers, we help scale the impact of producer-led change across California agriculture.

Guided by a collective-focused, farmer-driven approach, APC provides consistent market access, financial tools, and on-farm technical assistance to strengthen the economic vitality of small producers and advance a regenerative agricultural economy. Currently rooted in the Central San Joaquin Valley, APC partners with over 50 Black, Hmong, and Latino/a farmers in Fresno, with plans to expand statewide and grow a more diverse, resilient community of producers.

Our Roots: Growing the Table

APC is administratively supported by the Office of Kat Taylor and is a partnership between OKThink, Inc. and the TomKat Ranch Educational Foundation. APC evolved from Growing the Table, a COVID-19 response food aid philanthropic project financially administered by the TomKat Ranch Educational Foundation and executed by the Office of Kat Taylor.

At a time of food insecurity and economic instability, Growing the Table connected 452 small farmers statewide—over 70% from underrepresented communities—with more than 120 community distribution organizations, delivering 1.2 million pounds of fresh, locally grown food to those who needed it most.

What started as an emergency effort revealed something deeper: when small, underrepresented farmers are resourced and connected to values-aligned buyers, the entire food system becomes more resilient, just, and nourishing. APC was born from that insight—transforming a crisis response into a long-term strategy for food system equity, economic vitality, and regenerative agriculture.
